Name: Dawn Bowling
Name: Candas Bennett
Organization helped: Community outreach
Reason for nomination: I nominate Candas Bennett as being an Animal Welfare Hero of South Georgia. Once you meet her you will understand. She always has a smile on her face and ready to roll up her sleeves to save an animal. I'm not sure that you could get a true and accurate number on how many dogs/cats she saves. Or the amount of people that she has touched through community service. She is tireless in her efforts to help not just her community but multiple communities through her outreach network of rescues. Candas has single handedly started a low cost spay/neuter clinic that 4 counties are apart of. And she is looking to expand on this to other communities. Candas is heavely involved in Animal welfare education. She helps to bring classes to local law enforcement agencies. Teaching those in law enforcement how to use the animal laws that are on the books and how better protect woman and animals in cruelty cases. Her passion is working with legislation. Updating new laws and creating new laws at the Capitol level to insure a better and healthier Georgia. She is a true blessing to all of us that know her. She does everything for the dogs and nothing for herself. She is a true Animal Welfare Hero.
